ABOUT BED BUGS

Adult bed bugs are approximately 5mm to 7mm in length and usually light tan in colour, but will often change to a darker reddish-brown colour after a feed. They are predominantly nocturnal insects and will usually feed on blood from their human host at night, however, have been known to live up to year without a feed.Female bed bugs produce eggs following 3 days of mating and a single female bed bug can lay up to 500 eggs in a lifetime, so early detection and specialist treatment is vital in the prevention of increased infestations.

Bed bugs are very transient in their nature, and can migrate from people to people, luggage or even second-hand furniture. Although bed bug bites can vary depending on the Indvidual's reaction the bites can cause distress and in some cases skin rash’s which can become raised and itchy overtime.
